IMAGES: The program is designed to best present text and images on a web page. The PICTURE on the site appears in the body area of the page. It is the image you are asked to insert as you build each page. The PICTURE needs to be saved at a maximum width of 250 pixels. The MAIN picture, is considered your site logo and is the LAST STEP when you create your site. It will appear on every page you create in the same place (depending upon your chosen template ). For optimum speed on your site, you should create images that are optimized for the web by using a program that helps reduce file sizes. Jpg's and .gif file formats work best for the web. SITE TITLE: Depending on the design chosen, your site title will appear in the banner of some of the designs or as a bold header just below the banner. You can have up to 32 characters of text (including spaces) for your site title. PAGE NAME: Each page you create needs a name. (Maximum characters including spaces is 18). The names of the pages are also the page links. This name becomes part of the unique web address of the individual pages in your personal site. Each page name needs to be unique to the other page names in your site. SUB HEADER: The sub header is the top most line of bold face text on your page. You can have up to 64 characters of text (including spaces) your site Sub Header. MAIN TEXT: This text is the body text of your site. There is plenty of room for text on your site. Use the html cheat sheet supplied to see how to make paragraph breaks as needed. EDITING SITE: If you'd like to change text or pictures you've already posted, change template designs or pictures, even add another page (up to five pages) -- just sign in at the "Start Now" link using your user id and password. You will be back to the site you've created. Clik on a template and your site will change to the new look, edit/delete your text and you are all set. HTML: HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and it is the simple programming language that a web browser program uses. HTML are the "hidden tags" that tell your web pages (such as the one you are looking at now) what they should look like. You can get started in learning HTML by using our "html help sheet". The codes we've provided will show you how to "bold face" text, add paragraph breaks and more. By using html on your pages you will add more functionality to your site and make it easier for your visitors to read. The html help sheet is hot linked from the edit screens.
